Game Changers Technology Talk webinars are aimed at anyone who is interested in technical innovation in the nuclear industry, learning about cutting-edge research developments and understanding how the Game Changers programme helps solve challenges which can’t be met with off-the-shelf solutions.
February's webinar featured the following talk:
GOVI – Gamma-Optical Video Imaging – is a Game Changers Proof of Concept (PoC) project aiming to bring hybrid real-time source localisation into Post Operational Clean Out, particularly in glove boxes. Technology development is led by Sarah Bugby, Loughborough University, with Jonathan Norman from Sellafield Ltd managing the active deployment. In this talk, Sarah and Jonathan discussed the process for first-time deployment of a prototype device on the Sellafield site – they discussed the challenges, offered advice on how to overcome these for future projects, and also showcased the benefits of PoC deployments such as these.
